Our highly trained women’s health professionals include Board Certified OB/GYN physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives, Family and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners in addition to certified Medical Assistants. We provide care for women throughout all stages of life, from adolescence through menopause.

Our GYN Services are comprehensive and include preventive care, reproductive counseling and management.

Our Obstetrical Services covers all aspects of pregnancy from conception and prenatal care to coordination of delivery and post-natal care. Our team also collaborates with specialists to enhance care for our higher risk pregnancies. We coordinate our patients’ deliveries with hospitalists from well-regarded local hospitals.

dr Michael Smith

Michael Q. Smith, MD
OB-GYN Director

Dr. Michael Q. Smith is a Board Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Evansville in 1977. He then attended University of North Carolina where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree in 1980. Dr. Smith continued his education and received his medical degree from University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 1985 and then completed his residency from Greater Baltimore Medical Center in 1989.

When Dr. Smith is not working he enjoys doing community work as a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Incorporated, cooking, plays the base guitar, traveling, family vacations and bowling.

Rachel Jansen, DO, MPH, FACOG, Physician

Dr. Rachel Jansen is a Board Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees with Honors from the University of Florida. She then attended Des Moines University in Iowa where she earned both her medical degree and Master of Public Health degree with Distinction. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at MetroHealth Medical Center and The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where she worked as Chief Resident.


Rebecca Stone, NP

Rebecca Stone, WNP
Provider

Rebecca Stone, NP has been a nurse practitioner for 30 years in women’s health caring for women age 12 – 100. She provides care for both pregnant and non-pregnant women in the Dumfries and Woodbridge locations of the Center. Rebecca received her BSN from George Mason University, and her MS-NP from Virginia Commonwealth University.

In her spare time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her two children and large extended family.


Allison B. Colby
MPAS, PA-C, CDE

Allison is thrilled to become part of the GPW team as an OB/GYN provider! Allison is a certified Physician Assistant who graduated from James Madison University with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Her clinical background is in Family Medicine, with a special interest in women's medicine and diabetes education. Fueled by her hands-on experience, working in a variety of Free and Community clinics, Allison has a passion for improving access to quality healthcare for all.

When she’s not at The Center, Allison enjoys outdoor activities, live music, reading, running and spending time with her husband and two young daughters!


Teresa Rose

Teresa Rose, FNP
Provider

Teresa Rose is a Family Nurse Practitioner for the OB/GYN department. She completed her Associates in Nursing at Northern Virginia Community College, followed by her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at the University of Louisiana before obtaining her Master’s Degree in Nursing under the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Chamberlain University. Teresa worked as a Registered Nurse for Loudoun OB/GYN in Leesburg, also has previous experience working as a Registered Nurse in High Risk Perinatal department at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

In her spare time she enjoys reading, watching football, her favorite team are the Washington Redskins. Teresa also enjoys traveling, cruising and spending time with her family.


Stephanie Boateng, CNM
Provider

Stephanie Boateng, CNM received her BSN from Virginia Commonwealth University followed by her Masters in Nurse Midwife from Frontier Nursing University. She has plenty of experience as a Registered Nurse, Travel Nurse for over the past 7+ years. Mrs. Boateng has worked at different universities like Virginia Commonwealth University and University Of Virginia while working toward her degrees. She also has professional experience at all sorts of different medical facilities around both Virginia and California that include Beebe Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, INOVA Fairfax Hospital, Sutter Mills Peninsula, and Bon Secours Mercy Health.

In her free time, Mrs. Boateng likes to travel and spend time with her family and loved ones.
