Certifications & Accreditations
At the Center we strive for and achieve excellence. Following are some of the certifications, accreditations and awards held by the Center. You can click on the title of each to learn more.
- Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC): FQHC must provide comprehensive services to underserved populations and offer a sliding scale payment option. To maintain this status, the Center also participates in an ongoing quality assurance program, meaning that our health outcomes and procedures are reviewed and improved upon on a regular basis, setting us apart from many traditional healthcare providers.
- National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) – Level 3: This recognition is the most widely-used way to transform primary care practices into medical homes and is a widely recognized symbol of quality. Level 3 is the highest level of NCQA accreditation, indicating high performance across the areas of better patient experience, better health and lower per capita cost.
- The Federally Supported Health Centers Assistance Act of 1992 and 1995 granted medical malpractice liability protection through the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) to HRSA-supported health centers. Under the Act, health centers are considered Federal employees and are immune from lawsuits, with the Federal government acting as their primary insurer.
A deemed health center, its employees, and eligible contractors working within the approved scope of project are considered federal employees and are immune from lawsuits for medical malpractice. A patient who alleges acts of medical malpractice by a deemed health center cannot sue the health center or the provider(s) directly, but must file the claim against the United States Government. - Prince William Living Giving Back Award Winner: This award recognizes not-for-profits making a positive, measurable difference in quality of life for people living in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park.
