Meet Our Providers

Dr. Rashid Mohiuddin

​Dr. Rashid Mohiuddin
Medical Director

Dr. Rashid Mohiuddin, Board Certified Family Physician serves as the Medical Director, overseeing all aspects of patient care and chair of Quality improvement/Quality assurance committee. Dr. Mohiuddin has completed his Medical school from India.  He has worked in various countries and worked in FQHC for over 11 years.

Dr. Mohiuddin completed his residency in Family Medicine at Howard University. He has over 17 years of experience and is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He has been working as a Medical Director at GPW Health Center since 2009. He speaks Urdu and Hindi fluently. During his free time he enjoys playing sports and traveling.

Syed Mahboob, MD 

Dr. Syed Mahboob, MD was born in Pakistan where he completed Medical School from Dow Medical University of Health Sciences. He completed his Family Medicine training from Howard University, Washington DC during which he was awarded the honor of Educational Chief Resident for the Residency Program.

After completing his residency he continued his fellowship in Geriatrics at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. After working as a Geriatrician he joined the center in 2015 where he’s worked full time at the Manassas location as a primary care physician.

In his spare time he enjoys outdoor activities such as running, biking, and hiking as well as playing chess and poker. He is also a big fan of the latest Hollywood Movies.

doctor Layla Hussain

Dr. Layla Ali Abdal Hussain 

Dr. Layla Ali Abdal Hussain is American Board Certified in Geriatrician and Internal Medicine. She earned he Diploma of General Medicine Al-Mustansiriya University in Bagdad in 1991. She then relocated to New Zealand where she continued with her education and earned her Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Abdal Hussain is American Board Certified in Geriatrician and Internal Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Program at Prince George Hospital and her Fellowship Program of Gerontology from the University of Maryland. She is licensed to practice in Maryland and Virginia.

She has also had her work published Journal of Clinical Geriatrics and Consultant 360. Her interest and hobbies consist of traveling, reading, jogging, and photography.


Lena Tran
Physician Assistant

Lena Tran graduated from Howard University, where she was on the Dean’s List.  She has been practicing as a Physician Assistant in family medicine and urgent care setting for more than the past 7 years.  She believes in patient education, preventative care, in-depth evaluation and treatment. She enjoys building long-term relationships with her patients. Her goal is to provide quality, comprehensive, and compassionate medical care. She is fluent in Vietnamese.  

Lena Tran enjoys traveling to new places, exploring different cultures, and spending times with her family.

Katie Kotopoulos
Family Nurse Practitioner

Katie Kotopoulos is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She sees adults and children from age newborn to 100. Her undergraduate degree is from The University of Virginia. She then received a second bachelors degree in Nursing from The Johns Hopkins University and then received a Masters in Nursing from Georgetown University in 2003. She has worked at Georgetown University Medical Center and at the United States Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She lived, worked and travelled for 7 years in Africa and Asia before joining the Center in 2015.

When Katie is not at work, she enjoys reading, running and spending time with her husband and 4 sons.

​Alma Tobar
Family Nurse Practitioner

Ms. Tobar is a board certified family Nurse Practitioner who joined GPW Health Center in 2018. Ms. Tobar received her Master's Degree from University of Turabo in Miramar, Florida. Prior to The Center, she has worked in Internal Medicine Practice Group in Falls Church and Alexandria, VA.

She is fluent is Spanish and English. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners

​​Deborah Yuan
Family Nurse Practitioner

Deborah Yuan is a Family Nurse Practitioner, a recent graduate from the FNP MSN degree from George Washington University, May of 2018. She completed the Bachelor’s of Nursing degree from GW December of 2015, and her nursing background is in the Emergency Department at GW Hospital, a level 1 trauma center. She also holds a M.S. in Physiology from the joint program of Georgetown and George Mason University, and her first Bachelor’s degree was in Biology at the University of Virginia.

During her free time, she enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and grew up playing the piano and violin.
